Yujileds® supports the Japan Germany Gemmological Laboratory in researching the next generation of gem identification light sources

Yujileds®, the leader of high color rendering LED lighting, has teamed up with the Japan Germany Gemmological Laboratory, Japan’s most authoritative gemstone identification organization, to complete a research project on the next generation of gemstone identification light sources.

In the latest issue of the journal from the Japan Germany Gemmological Laboratory for Gemstone Research, No. 49, released on January 12th, 2023, the institute reported on its research results. The AP series sunlight simulation LED light source provided by Yujileds® was compared with traditional fluorescent lamp light sources in gemstone grading applications and showed superior grading performance. The report concludes that LED daylight simulation light sources have superior grading performance compared to traditional fluorescent lamp light sources.

Unlike traditional LEDs, the Japan Germany Gemmological Laboratory found that Yujileds® sunlight simulation LED products surprisingly create a realistic play of color and brilliance in gemstones as if they were under daylight or fluorescent tubes. They acknowledge that our natural light simulation products are very suitable for commercial gemstone display cases.

Yujileds® will further collaborate with the Japan Germany Gemmological Laboratory on gemstone identification light sources based on our natural light simulation LED products.
